The Vermont Public Utility Commission is listening to testimony in  18-2660-INV - An investigation into promoting the ownership and use of electric vehicles in the State of Vermont.

A major question: If electric cars are to replace gas and diesel powered vehicles, how will the state of Vermont replace the $120 million in excise taxes collected by gas and diesel marketers.

Vermont's largest electric utility wants no new taxes on electric vehicles or electricity to help pay for roads and bridge repair in Vermont.
